We are lucky enough to have worked with a small local distillery to produce their engraved branded coasters. The North Star Distillery is the first licensed distillery producing spirits in North Wales for 116 years so it is a real privilege to have been asked to do this work for them.
We were asked to create an item which could be used included with a ‘gift pack’ but could also be offered as a stand-alone product. We took the striking Merywen logo and engraved it onto 10cm round slate discs. These were individually engraved in our North Wales workshop, cleaned and backed with a soft felt. The photo above shows the various stages of the process, starting with a blank, welsh slate disc which was sourced from a quarry in Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is then masked with a heavy tape which is used to create the design and then sand blasted in our workshop. The result is a beautiful, handmade coaster which can take pride of place on your table for years to come.
