We have spent a great deal of time and effort designing some truly unique engravings. All the design work was done by ourselves and we hope you like the results as much as we do. Here is a sample of some of the railway themed items we have produced. Naturally we are more than happy to discuss any commission with you if you fancy something a little bit different.
The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways
The Ffestiniog railway was originally constructed between 1833 and 1836 with the purpose of transporting slate from the quarries of Blaenau Ffestiniog down to the docks at Porthmadog. It was originally operated using horses to drag empty slate wagons up the hill. The trains were filled and then were sent back down to Porthmadog by gravity.
Both were originally constructed for the purpose of transporting slate out of the North Wales quarries and are now operating passenger services. These route maps have been engraved onto 15 x 20″ roofing slates.
We also sourced some 16 x 10″ mottled slate from the Penrhyn quarry in Bethesda and made some slightly smaller versions of the map.
While these items are available to purchase, if you would like something a little bit different please get in touch and we would be more than happy to discuss your ideas.
